Summary: The childhood experiences are still present in the adult body of the covert or overt abusive parent.

Undiagnosed Cluster B personality disorder in the parent will show blameshifting away from the inner self, avoiding accountability and observing other people in a black-and-white perception.

Fear of exposure will remain under the surface of the narcissist person… the scapegoat receives the covert chipping or poking or overt abuse to keep the narcissistic family untriggered. There will be strange justifications.

The narcissistic parent will have had a certain type of childhood; it may be justified from a lower emotional intelligence standpoint… lower than average if a measure is required.
