Summary: ADHD is not on the spectrum; if a mother has ADHD, her children are at a higher risk of being on the spectrum.
If both parents have ADHD, the children will follow the genetic direction.

Also, I did some research. If the mother has ADHD then the children are more likely to have ADHD than the father passing it on. If both parents have ADHD, then the children will have it differently.
Plus...and this is important - If the mother has ADHD, the children are at a higher risk of being on the spectrum for autism. ADHD is not on the spectrum.
Many women diagnosed later in later can be diagnosed for ADHD and autism and mask it where, as men show more overt signs so it is picked up much faster.
All of which is hereditary, easily past on through genetics.
Mild spectrum does not show up in high-functioning people via self-awareness, but the patterns can be seen by others.
