All sections are linked to in-depth Story Drama research and Psychology coursework. A lot of it won't be common knowledge at a core level and may take time to process the blueprint. Other subjects are on the surface. Dive in.
Be mindful of labels and learn the subject beyond the label.
Many professionals, patients, diagnosed, and self-confessed are active on the web; thank you for your insight - expressing gratitude. In the past, everyone had to buy expensive books for study… still do that its worth it.
Moving away from films, TV series, books, and games to find a deeper insight… the roots of Story Drama are found in Psychology and human behaviour analysis. The next step for me was to gain qualifications beyond what the internet is saying to millions. The internet is not wrong; there are many valuable sources of information, do be careful when searching without cross-referencing. My my study I aways need to refercne from number of places to validate the information.
Education is key for Story Drama and its’s a good idea to know how we are made so we can all enjoy a better experience with ourselves and others. Try removing Truth Bias when observing those with questionable behaviour and aim for an adult second perception.
“What is water?” David Foster Wallace 2005.
“The capital T truth, education has everything do with awareness, in plain sight, this is water. Education is a job for a life time.”
Learning to be ‘well-adjusted’ requires a beginning before it is noted when the beginning should start. This means the older generation is responsible for ensuring the next generation is on the right path, back to the now. Many learn to decide what is authentic, as the opposite will remove the facade. The observer will have attention, awareness, and discipline.
How Manipulators Are Made
Part 1 - Intro ( Part 2, 3 & 4 on the main page)
This page is part of my Story Drama research on the back story of a manipulative character and how they are made, plus it was a big part of my Psychology study (Human behaviour from affected environments)
The 31 Tactics film opens the door to the mechanics and circumstances of how some people are made in childhood and how their minds will work differently due to their experiences. The first 40 minutes cover how the manipulative cycle can be passed on through each generation due to a lack of understanding of what makes a balanced person and how parents who have no empathy for others will create the same outcome as they had.
Tim shows lists of behaviour patterns related to the exposure and the projection
The Me, Me, Me instead of the You, Me, and the Situation can appear due to the same genetics and environment creating the same formula, invalidating children and damaging their perception of the world and how to survive in it. Plus, the abuse (emotional, verbal) can hurt the mind physically and mentally. Not everyone becomes manipulative; the films in part 2 and Insight in part 3 will offer a deep insight.
First, Tim Fletcher’s film shows the Effect cause-and-effect will have on a person when they grow up and what it will appear like in adult life. More dangerous manipulation goes under the radar as it is much harder to spot; the person can be self-aware of masking but be unaware they are narcissistic from childhood experiences (overt reaction) and live undiagnosed.
Trauma
Bessel van der Kolk
Start with Bessel… watch his eight-minute video and read his book; he can speak more on the subject than most.
One story passed on was my grandfather used to wake up at 3 am inside a repeated dream from an experience he had while taking part in the Second World War. Fighting for his life with a machine gun in his hands to survive. His mind and body kept reliving the experience. He masked it. Many did from his generation. Imagine being shipped off for brief physical training, a bit of conditioning and no experience… at age 19.
If the war was survived, no foundation for transition was offered.
The rest is history and why it is so important not to have manipulative world leaders driven by undiagnosed personality disorders. The cognitive bias gives stimulation from detached achievements and overt or covert needs of control and power; a grandiose view of themselves creates further attachment.
“Hurt people hurt other people.”
A saying I use to simply explain how the body holds memories as well as the mind “Once a person leaves a p.o.w. camp, the person must remove the p.o.w. from themsleves.”
The mind, brain and body are connected via a very sophisticated network… what goes in will be stored and either put on to others or be removed. Trauma can be carried for an entire life if the core issue is not identified correctly and removed. It can change a persons perception and agenda.
Empathy
Human wifi, walking in other people’s shoes, the first step towards helping a situation, consideration is born from empathy and education, links to childhood, parenting styles, and amazing for longevity in many situations.
Most empathy is great, a gift linked to creativity and lifelong soulful relationships. The opposite can be found in a person faking it or having a bias and wanting empathy from others as they secretly have none to give when it matters (narcissism).
Another stage in the wrong direction is called a Dark Empath. They claim to be everything but guilt trip, manipulate for attention, strange humour chips and pokes, put downs, smear, taking behind peoples backs which all inked to Dark Traid traids of narcissticts people. The dark empathy isn’t a loving connecting empathy it’s menchincal for observation and a means to manpitute people.
Back to the good stuff, linked to mirror neurons activated in the brain and generally because someone will help first, ask questions second because they see the end goal as a fix. We learn through mirror neurons in certain ways. If supply is given to the wrong person, the empath is drained as they are used beyond the norm if not careful.
The Dark Empath will have had a certain kind of childhood, the pattern keeps appearing.
Cognitive empathy involves being able to understand another person's mental state and what they might be thinking in response to the situation. This is related to what psychologists refer to as the theory of mind or thinking about what other people are thinking.
Emotional empathy. Being able to feel the emotions someone else is feeling as though you were going through their experience, too.
Compassionate empathy. A combination of cognitive and emotional empathy where you understand another perspective and your emotions respond as though you were in that situation.
Affective empathy involves the ability to understand another person's emotions and respond appropriately. Such emotional understanding may lead to someone feeling concerned for another person's well-being, or it may lead to feelings of personal distress.
Somatic empathy involves having a physical reaction in response to what someone else is experiencing. People sometimes physically experience what another person is feeling. When you see someone else feeling embarrassed, for example, you might start to blush or have an upset stomach.
Three Mindsets
Fixed, Flexible and Fluid
VeryWellMind - Fixed vs Growth
The best mindset is flexible; fixed means stuck; fluid means a person may go along with anything. The question is vague on purpose, a quick puzzle.
Imagine three situations; which is heaviest?
1) No questions.
2) 20 questions and no answers.
3) 200 questions and 200 answers.
Answers
1) No questions = A target
2) 20 questions and no answers = Stuck
3) 200 questions and 200 answers = Free
External and internal influences can affect a person’s perception of themselves and others.
Emotional Intelligence
High & Low - There are many reasons why certain situations can happen.
A person is an adult when they behave like a balanced adult; it has nothing to do with age.
How many people do you know who are masking a stuck mindset or hiding a child or a teenager's agenda while living in an adult’s body? Removing the bottleneck might be the answer and lead to the core issue hiding in plain sight.

Cognative Bias
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what's going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don't hear your own voice in your head, that's a good sign you still have more work to do.

Perception
The first rule of fight club? Pay attention.
Second rule: Pay attention to everything including time perception.

The Dunning Kruger Effect
When is comes to narcissism, a certain emotional intelligence will defend its self with arrogance and the lack of ability to process accountability, guilt and shame. That situation can cause in some cases irreversible damage and abuse. Avoidance towards the truth or responsibility must be filtered out by some. (Refer to the child or teenager in the adults body or Peter Pan Syndrome)
In other cases and referring to The Dunning Kruger Effect: We can start off assuming a perception about a situation or subject, without knowing all the facts, take a matter on face value and create a barrier around the less informed view of what might be involved in the journey. Once establishing a more realistic reality on a subject of situation, the mind can become fully aware of what is actually involved in continuing to a higher level of awareness… or be arrogant and pretend to know more, on to a small piece of something and create the reast with an egocentric view to cover up the lack of commitment to reach the correct goal. Who said life wasn’t tough if you want goals? 99.9% of the time, one’s own perception is the obstacle. Lemon juice on the face and flat earth are subjects that require more insight… Or was that all made up?
Success
This one is easy… (note the Dunning Kruger effect reference above).
The simple system to implement is failure. Fail lots of time and keep going…don’t stop. If you stop you have? If you never bother to try you have?
Sucess is measure by the journey and the reselty, then apply a new education with new tools and evenutlly as the time and effort equasion give insight, the pathway feels like its in the right direction. The reward is not in the lack of trying, its finding the last 10% of truth that exposes the failure was worth it.
Or the shudder cudder wooder will have side effects such as justification and putting others down instead - this relates to a fragile ego scared of failture rather than scared of success. Knowing person can be scared of failure is the first step to success, its scary for everyone, no one is special, what they achieve from failure can be very specials through blood sweat and tears. Covert narcissism can develop from the lack of trying along with childhood experiences so person growth is all part of the working formula to overcome the biggest obstacle…the self.
Just like words can be weapons via those who don’t try, its not easy to fail… in fact the idea of failing can bring a huge perception shift as a lack of self awareness is exposed. “I don’t want anyone to know I fail”. You are in luck, the most powerful elements to building self esteem is failing a lot and not stopping, get used to it and it doesnt seem like failing… its only practice.

Sensory Overload
Modern life comes at us from every angle.
ADHD & ADD
Neurobiological - The Prefrontal Cortex
Listed are several short films that offer different directions and opinions on the subject of ADHD and ADD. I am not qualified or have any certification in this area; I can only observe and accept feedback from close friends who have ADHD or ADD. Listing the types of ADHD and ADD could help someone consider their position and speak to a specialist in case there is a connection to symptoms in the modern world or if childhood experiences have had an undiagnosed effect.
1. Classic ADD
2. Inattentive ADD
3. Over-focused ADD
4. Temporal Lobe ADD
5. Limbic ADD
6. Ring of Fire ADD
7. Anxious ADD
(Click on the links for the explanation of each)

Sight, sound, touch, smell, taste and touch… and
Betrayal & Cheating
Rom-coms, weekly dramas, conflict drama, grow pathways once the truth is out.
Dr Ramani explores the subject and suggests that red flags are not always present in everyday life… but with a bit of insight, mixed signals are present and should be challenged. Expect teenagers and young relationships to be confusing and based on past knowledge, so they can be more experimental (who is a match beyond attraction) than in a marriage. This subject is for adult relationships when people should be self-aware and long-term thinkers and actually mean what they say. I will find a good study on the challenges faced by teenagers.
Right now, in my written stories, there is no rom-com theme interjected via a Cyberpunk world and Sci-Fi genre… but by studying the opposite and knowing the term soulmate, a more realistic view of the positive elements can be expressed. Perceptions that fail a relationship to note are an unhealthy detached cognitive bias and a lot of unprocessed baggage, plus wanting more and wanting what is not present. The perception of the distro is lacking in something, so people move on.
This film reminds us that there is a certain percentage of none adults in adult bodies.
Boundaries and Parameters
Those who can’t understand people should have boundaries; they abuse them through a cognitive bias and a personality disorder, a lack of perception of reality and ownership. A lot of boundary abuse can be through triangulation and flying monkeys rather than a direct “I am here for you to think of me”. The internet is full of this issue where someone keeps going and going due to their perception being affected by childhood dynamics still present in older relationships. In story drama, it can be seen with the herd mentality under the influence to seek dominance or gang territory. In relationships, a person who can emotionally regulate with a masked personality, the inner self that lacks development, will behave like an unbalanced teenager and, without getting their hands dirty, use others to send guilt and expect attention. Not really a subject for discussion as the repeated behavoier can require the authorities… from my research, protect boundaries.
Dissociative Amnesia
The mind protecting itself
Healthline offers insight into the different types of Amnesia and their causes. With help, many situations can be recalled. A good friend of mine couldn’t remember their childhood; later, with education and guidance, they found out why. It is not a subject to be flippant about, and usually, the person with a dissociative response to earlier experiences in life may live with memories discounted as the brain simply protects itself and chooses not to process them when being so young.

Narcissistic Supply
The repeated behavoier gained from affected foundation chapter without personal growth mixed with a personality disorder, unfortunately.
A very unhealthy behavoier that can appear innocent at first, then can turn into a very draining experience and usually don’t by someone who does not see the effects, they only feel the reward they are forcing.
Choosing Therapy - Narcissistic Supply
This usually happens when people are unaware of what the situation actually is. If a person is self regulating their is no need to drain other people beyond a point.
Sometime refercne to as a social vampire or the victim mentality with a covert agenda for valition and attention with eye o the person regaless. The childhood had less than it should or had something not good for child development. A subject for a profession to discuss, but a bit like a hidden addiction and certain people will be sued for the fix. Taking away the fix will cause a crack in attention withdrawal. Its hard to see how but if the unregulated mind is getting a fix like a drink or a from a social ldrug, the same sensation can be given to those who want over need.
Lie Detection
Observation and Documentation of the Facts
Until my Criminal Profiling course is complete, I will not indulge; instead look for books on the Psychology Books page. Paul Ekman, Joe Navarro, Chase Hughes, Pamela Meyer, and Lindsay C. Gibson have great insight into emotional maturity on this subject.
Two types of lying: Concealing and Falsifying
In the TV series Lie to Me (linked to Paul Ekman’s books), the natural human lie detector is introduced into the story via a scene at an airport. She is tested and offered a job after passing. Before her education, her gut instinct, observation skills, background, and perception gave her insight into what was hiding in plain sight.
It's a great TV series; the scene was well written. It reminded me of a person I have been made aware of who always seems to complain when going through customs and getting pulled over. The delusional assumption was, "I must look like a terrorist." The statement was publicly noted several times and brushed off.
“Micro gestures giving the bird subtly”
“Amoral agenda.”
“Fabrication for attention.”
“Unlikely history.”
“Face value.. remove truth bias.”
Empath and Educated Empath
A beautiful creation, feeling, experiencing and connecting with the world, the ability to walk in other people’s shoes, read body language and connect internally. For empaths, it's important to have an equal amount of education on others as the amount of empathy for others… otherwise, the ability will be drained by those who mask that they have none and want more from others without any kind of consideration for cause and effect. For example, if a narcissistic person loses their feed from an empath, it's like drug-induced withdrawal and yet another red flag. Empaths are the glue but must be the most educated, and this transforms empathy into something else. An Educated Empath will slice through everything with a combined moral core and universal education, which is very different from having an overt or covert agenda of the opposite type found to be chipping, poking and expressing a low emotional intelligence.
A strange situation to point out second and not to spoil the appreciation. Some with high levels of cognitive bias and dark triad traits may try and come across as empathic to mask a history of choices that are far from any relation to authentic connection. The masked or exposed issue will always show if a person chooses to manipulate for survival or works the moral core values into everyday living. I was as surprised as anyone in the first instant, but the more a person studies the facade, mask, delusion, and Machiavellianism, the false persona can be exposed quite easily as the agenda to describe isn’t connected to mirror neurons, and neither will the choices, states and actions. This is why lie section and truth-seeking are vital skills to build a well-rounded, balanced, mature psychology education. Some mask rather than fix, if they are presented to have empathy for others to get what they want on their terms, that is a different matter entirely. research magicless, the dark triad trait linked to manipulation and the personal victim card. A faker will have their own compensating behaviour, which is widely documented, and they will slip up when there are ripples in the water.
The Dark Triad
This subject is best absorbed via the Dark Triad Page with videos. All three types are explained along with confessions from those with a certified diagnosis, usually due to repeated detached behaviour and a lack of processing their own behaviour or understanding of cause and effect.
Note: Psychopathy can happen due to childhood experiences (secondary); it’s a myth that a person is only born that way. Mostly, it starts in the womb and is linked to family relatives and hormones such as dopamine.
Narcissistic-Personality Disorder = NPD (magical thinking and detachment)
Heathline - Two types and subdivisions
Malignant Narcissism (an important read)
Covert Narcissism (Harder to spot, but the same; more professional victim cards used to distract from the hidden agenda. They use others to not get their hands dirty.)
Machiavellianism (PsychCentral)
Machiavellianism (Very manipulative)
Psychology Today (What to consider)
“They only situation worse than a manipulator is a bored manipulator.”
Not everyone becomes a product of their affected environment. Learning about the development stages a child has to go through is important. Children aged between 7 and 9 are at their most narcissistic and self-aware; issues evolve if a balance balance is recurring at that time.
Toxic Families
Toxic family members can play dumb, uneducated, blame shift, abuse boundaries through influence, and the Narcissist is given a pass.
The Narcissist need for Enmeshment: Psychcentral Carla Correlli Personality Unleashed means getting people locked in and to be an extension of the unbalanced person, three year olds display the same needs to feel secure. When growing up and moving away or breaking a breaking relationship with a narcissist, the same doubling down happens. It’s very important to bring up children correctly.
Story Drama: The Sopranos is a great series with lots of Psychology, including Tony Soprano having a narcissistic mother (Livia). The relationship changed as she got old and bitter and came undone, the use of abuse and silent treatment through deregulation of her own emotions.
Anima Possession, a narcissistic parent, will create negative assumptions about how relationships should be. Attention based choices for validation and stimulation from others.
Backroom conversation about everyone else: When they are not present exposure, they struggle with power dynamics and need to feel power due to lacking self-esteem.
“At the centre of every family drama can be an abused child who never found personal growth”, which is a tough situation but not when it pulls everyone down into conformity for attention and regulation to serve the hidden disorder.
Blame shifting is present as the persons with the disorder won't see they are the problem, and they create the cause of any drama. Valiation never happened in childhood or they were never taught to respect NO.
In the Story Drama, there can be a charcter with undeserved wants from the environment at the expense of others, going undiagnosed and causing harm without any consideration. TV soap opera’s can have the power dynamic issues.
Love Bombing
Distraction from the red flags and agenda. It’s a manipulation to keep avoidance and accountability off the table. A false connection and using words that others use with authenticity.
For example: If someone sends “I Love You, I Think About You” after silent treatment for 364 days and chose a special day, holiday after a smear campaign and manipulating everyone around you, then block and review the mindset. A covert or overt manipulator is lacking in something and simply using words as tools. Check their childhood and past relationships and remember their view of their past relationships.
Maintain patience and create a record of history, join the dots to see the patterned behaviour. Look for the professional victim card. Compare to balance and regulation. Going past boundries can happen because they don’t see boundaries which is another reflag, going through people is a second red flag and linked to gaslighting.
The Psychology Mirror
Fire with fire
For those who never accurately judge themselves correctly, having a lack of self-awareness when linked to cohesion, manipulation and abuse. Amoral (not knowing right from wrong). The Psychology Mirror is a basic function to put the mirror right in front of a disruptor so they only see themselves rather than seeing the victim they are trying to manipulate or normalise their unacceptable behaviour. A manipulative gain to avoid accountability and may use force, rage or pressure.
What can happen is that the mask will slip, and the truth will appear along with the personality disorder and agenda behind the eyes. This is only for extreme measures when certain truths are covered up to avoid acknowledging a crime, fraud, shame, guilt, abuse and a false public presentation. The outcome is generic. Evidence, truth and facts show how a person filter them out of their lack of conscious and understand for cause and effect.
A different tactic is good cop, bad cop, or ripples in the water after a baseline, an easy way to pick up on body language and errors in conversation after events.
When creating strong boundaries, it is key to knowing how to deflect a manipulator so they stop testing or ignoring the new boundaries. My research found that few people know what a boundary is or how to present it early. Once understood, exposure can follow on its own.
Calling out gaslighting should be done after studying lie detection and certify the behaviour via professionals first, as personality disorders have many biases so the cause and effect of any behaviour is filtered out, and may have been that way for a long time, well before for the exposure situation takes place.
Before deciding to put the reflection back on a disruptive person, note that people with empathy will always behave one way and usually don’t put themselves in a position to have everything present back at them to overwhelm them. A person without empathy chooses different pathways. They may have enablers and flying monkeys due to needing a certain prop-up over the years with an empathy feed (narcissistic supply) and attention network. That network may take life on face value and not see the disruptors actions behind closed doors or when no one is looking. Usually the way until it is directed at them at a later date or they are dropped after having no use.
It all sound like a bad experience in a school yard where no one has grown up yet, it turns out that children and teenagers who are hiding in adult bodies are that way due to an effected upbringing so processing beyond the first emotion isn’t that easy. I stopped researching after seeing a huge figure of the same matter, some grow, some don’t and those self aware mask it.
In Story Drama, uncovering a crime is done by a detective or a team; it's worth doing it similarly. If you choose to expose, do it with all notes, recordings, and action documents, along with witnesses, before the expose happens. And then document the coverup. See the Psychology Books page for insight.
Considerations
The information found on the internet is often an open door with insight. I made sure I confirmed my research on the human condition and human behaviour with course work and professional opinion, and gained insight from interviews and experiecnes to see where the patterns appear and why they are present. What I am saying is: learn, confirm, verify, and gain further specialist advice from professionals who live and breathe their chosen subject daily and who keep themselves up to date with the subjects they specialise in. Mark has a few tips to soften the sea of information, check out his channel and book.
There was a lot to learn about Story Drama, relationships with personality disorders, and the compensating behaviour that masks the issue. Remove Truth Bias. The human mind is made in different ways; learn how.
The last film on this page can round up any assumptions on one subject mentioned in the website content.
“They believe the rules don’t apply to them.”
“Vulnerable Narcissism is equally linked males and females”
“The Malignant Narcissism is the last stop before psychopathy.”
“Psychopaths don’t realise they did something wrong.”
The Story Drama conclusion - The protagonist and antagonist should be colourful, simple, and complex at the same time. Both have a different agenda but pursue the same plan in different ways. That plan is usually to make a change and adjust the Status Quo.
